The Dancer

The Dancer

In the Dancer sex position:

  • Both partners simply stand facing each other, the receiver raises one of their legs to give easier access while their partner helps support it. If the receiver is very flexible, you may want to try putting the raised leg onto the shoulder of the giver for an even more erotic experience.

A unique twist on the missionary standing position, the dancer is a lot of fun if you are looking for something with more face to face contact

Extra Tips for the Dancer Standing Sex Position:

  • Change the depth of penetration when holding up one of your partner’s legs. You can crook the back of their knee where your elbow is for more support

  • Make use of the fantasy clichés we all have in our heads. This position evokes a more aggressive sexual situation, and can be used by both partners to explore a bit of power play during penetration.

Aside from spontaneous sex a panel of women experts all agreed that having sex with a man that can have sex standing up means that changing positions for other types of sex becomes much easier. If you understand how to lift and shift and thrust then you will be far more comfortable maneuvering your lover about a session of sexual enjoyment.

There is lots of sensuality in throwing a lover around the room, and being able to get rough against the wall, or even hold her off the ground while you have sex. The increase in blood flow from this type of athletic sex can be incredibly stimulating and erotic. It also can make men feel powerful and make women feel engulfed, these power relations can give a whole new dynamic to your sex life.

For whatever reason standing sex appeals to you, whether it be more exercise, greater sexual improvisation, or even just to make sex more fun, it is one more feather to add to the adventurous lover’s cap.

Advantages of the Dancer position

  • As with all standing sex positions, this one can be great for quickie sex

  • Lots of fantasy role play potential with this position

  • If you have strong leg muscles you can vary the angle and strength of penetration without extra strain on your hips.

  • Receiver can easily thrust

  • Spontaneous sex, even if there is no place to lie or sit

  • Couples often find this spontaneity to be very romantic

  • Many find this position, with the receiver clinging to the penetrator, to be very intimate.

Disadvantages of the Dancer position

  • Requires significant leg muscle strength and flexibility for the basic position and can be tiring, because of this some won’t use it for an entire session, or won’t orgasm in this position.

  • Requires practice

  • May be too difficult if the partners are of greatly unequal in height

  • May be too difficult with overweight people

  • It is sometimes difficult to achieve motion without support

  • Some couples consider it less romantic

  • There is a danger of back injury for man

  • Arms are often occupied; making manual stimulation difficult
